BETTER THAT WAY

They tell us that ‘life is for living’, Of that we are all well aware, But it isn’t there just for the taking, We have to be earning our share. And life may not always be easy, There’s good along with the bad, It’s fine to look back on our memories And reflect on the good times we’ve had. The past is now well behind you, Tomorrow brings a new day, As the new day dawns, take the bull by the horns, You will feel so much better this way. It’s all part of life’s rich pattern, All part of life’s greater plan, Accept all the chances it’s giving you And act upon them while you can. Now we must look to the future, Who knows what’s lying ahead? The challenge is to get out there And do something about it instead. Life is as you make it — We all have our own part to play, With a brave change of heart, we can make a fresh start. It’s bound to be better that way. P. Paterson, Little Eaton, Derby.
