THE funeral for Andrew Checkley, the much-loved sports journalist who worked for the Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph, The Guardian and London Evening Standard, will take place at 11.30am on Tuesday April 9, at Slough Crematorium. A reception will follow at the Polish Club in Church Lane, Slough. The family have asked for any donations to be made to MIND, the mental health charity (www.mind.org.uk/donate).
