Maddison is happy for U21 chance
JAMES MADDISON has no regrets at being overlooked for England senior duty and wants to make the most of his time with Aidy Boothryd’s Under 21s. The Leicester midfielder was included in Gareth Southgate’s October squad, but James WardProwse of Southampton got the nod instead this month. ‘I’m one of the older players in the group,’ said Maddison. ‘It was good experience for me to be up there. I’m representing my country, I’m happy to do that at any level.’ Maddison will face Germany tonight at Bournemouth, the Under 21s’ final fixture before the European Championship. ‘Germany will have a lot of quality and they will be there in the summer,’ he said. ‘These types of games are good in preparation, you get to see what we need to improve on.’
