HOW YOU CAN HELP SAVE THESE EXQUISITE CATS
THERE are thought to be 300-400 snow leopards in Nepal’s Sacred Himalayas, and for as little as £3 a month you could adopt these elusive creatures. It’s rare to see one in the wild, but WWF is able to use camera traps to photograph them. WWF works with local communities and organisations to study camera-trap images and identify individual animals, which indicates how many are in the area. WWF also works with governments and local communities to help prevent the illegal trade in snow leopards and their body parts. Snow leopards tend to be inactive during the day when they are often asleep. When the female is ready to mate she makes a singing noise that can be heard around the mountains and attracts the male. When you adopt a snow leopard, WWF will send you regular adoption updates so you can keep an eye on their progress.
