COPENHAGEN

EVERY Copenhagen visitor worth their sea salt makes time for a canal tour through this cultural gem, but, being on board Braemar, you’ll get to arrive in the heart of the centre. While larger ships have to dock further out, Fred. Olsen delivers you a five-minute walk from the iconic Little Mermaid statue. Once on dry land, you can then take in the delights of the city’s extravagant royal palaces and castles, positioned all along the dock. Thanks to Braemar’s ability to get you to the heart of a city, there’s more time for exploring; head to the neighbourhood of Nørrebro and dine Copenhagen style with a lunch of pickled herring on freshly baked rye washed down with a shot of schnapps.

ST PETERSBURG

ARRIVING in Russia on the Baltic itinerary, you will dock within clear sight of St Petersburg’s most iconic landmarks, including historical jewels such as the Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood, Peter and Paul Fortress and revolution centre The Winter Palace.

KIEL CANAL

AT 98km long, the Kiel Canal claims the title of the world’s busiest artificial waterway. Ships with a width of over 32.5 metres have to sail to the Baltics over 250 nautical miles of exposed sea, while Braemar guests get to take the scenic route and watch the forests and villages that make up Germany’s lustrous landscape pass by.
