MY GRANDDAUGHTER Bonnie, aged nine, arrived home from school and went straight to her bedroom to change out of her uniform. As she did so, her mum heard Bonnie singing. She tiptoed to outside Bonnie’s room to listen to the dulcet tones. When Bonnie had finished, her mum popped her head around the door and remarked: ‘Bonnie, what a beautiful song. You have a lovely singing voice — you really should take singing lessons.’ Bonnie thought for a moment before replying: ‘If I’ve such a lovely voice, why should I need singing lessons?’ Her mum had simply no answer to that!
