HOW YOU CAN HELP SAVE THESE AMAZING ANIMALS
IN 1991, WWF co-founded the International Gorilla Conservation Programme to protect and monitor mountain gorillas.
Mountain gorillas make a new nest of leaves and branches nearly every night which they use as a blanket.
The mountain gorilla you can adopt through WWF is called Ihoho (meaning ‘of incomparable beauty’), a member of the 18-strong Susa A group, living near the river Susa in Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda.
Park rangers visit this troop every day to check on their health, and look out for snares and other signs of poachers.
Adopting Ihoho will help secure mountain gorilla numbers and their habitat. WWF will send you regular progress reports in adoption updates. (SEE BELOW)
