EVEN the most dedicated follower of fashion might think Topshop’s pulling their leg when they see this latest offering.
The jeans, which create the illusion of an extra limb, have been widely mocked by would-be customers online.
One tweeted: ‘Go home Topshop, you’re drunk.’
Another wrote: ‘Got an email from Topshop ... am I hallucinating?’
However, despite their many detractors, the £60 trousers have already sold out in several sizes. Demand is believed to have been driven in part by photographs showing the likes of Miley Cyrus and Rita Ora wearing similar see-through trousers.
The Topshop pair – created by Jaded London – have a mesh side-panel emblazoned with hearts attached to denim.
