Kruis chasing a hat-trick

- By WILL KELLEHER

gEOrgE KrUiS is desperate for Saracens to beat glasgow for the third time this season — and rid himself of Calcutta Cup nightmares. Kruis was part of the England side that surrendered a 31-0 lead to draw 38-all against Scotland in the Six nations. Tomorrow his Saracens side face the Warriors in the quarter-finals of the European Champions Cup, having beaten them twice in the group stage. But Kruis (right) is wary of the threat glasgow pose. he said: ‘The Scotland game is a good reminder that you can’t switch off against any team. ‘We have had some good success against glasgow but have had to work hard for it. The two games in the Champions Cup have been tough ones. ‘glasgow can run from anywhere, kick across the field from 40 metres and land it on the money. We are fully aware of what we are up against. They have a pack that can work hard as well. ‘But we are embracing this and like the fact that we are playing them again, especially at home. ‘it’s straight knockout rugby against a team who we have played twice and we are fully pumped to be in the quarter-finals. it is massive for us and there is a good buzz.’ Leicester no 8 David Denton will miss the rest of the season due to ongoing concussion concerns. The 29-year-old last played in October when he was knocked out against northampton. he said: ‘i would obviously rather be out there with the lads but concussion is a very serious thing.’ The disciplinary decision on newcastle lock Calum green for an alleged bite against Sale has been delayed until Tuesday as the panel look for further medical evidence.
