Jurgen must win to make a statement

- CHRIS SUTTON

THIS is a must-win for Liverpool. There is no margin for error. Even a draw at this stage is like a loss because Manchester City are waiting to pounce on any mistakes. There is no time for Jurgen Klopp to let his players ease back into the Premier League after the international break. He knows his Liverpool side have to hit the ground running and make sure they stay in this race. City face Fulham today so they should claim a straightforward three points and return to the top of the table. Beating Tottenham tomorrow to then leapfrog them would be a statement from Liverpool. Spurs are fighting for the top four and are a good team with biggame players. They have goals in their team with Harry Kane (above), who is aiming for the Golden Boot. It will be difficult for Liverpool but Klopp will want his players to prove their title credentials. The Reds’ next three league fixtures should define this race. They face Tottenham at home, then a Friday night visit to a Southampton side that are fighting for their lives, followed by Chelsea at home. It will be a huge two weeks for them and the Premier League.
