Give and take

TWO reports in Money Mail caught my attention.

When 40,000 tax demands were sent out over a loan scheme, 1,100 people did not receive the letter, but will still have to pay taxes owed back to 1990.

A payment blunder meant 36,000 retired civil servants received pension overpayments of up to £700 a year going back decades. They have been told they can keep the money.
