were raised at an ‘industry masterclas­s’ hosted by law firm Sheridans last week, thanks to some seemingly dated remarks from England Netball CEO Joanna Adams. In a talk on media coverage ahead of this summer’s World Cup, Adams said the focus for netball was not to get the sport on the back pages but rather into the style and women’s publicatio­ns. At the same event, Gloucester Rugby chief executive Stephen Vaughan boasted that the club no longer find it necessary to use local papers to promote player signings and spoke in gushing terms of a recent player unveiling video created by their own media team. Sports Agenda has seen the video and does not share Vaughan’s enthusiasm.
