Racist tweets condemned by Taylor

CHARLTON striker Lyle Taylor has condemned a BRADFORD fan for ‘another example of ignorant, small-minded racism’ after receiving abuse on Twitter. Taylor flagged up as ‘pathetic’ four tweets aimed at him that consisted of banana emojis from an account @BantamRealTalk sent following Bradford’s 1-0 defeat at The Valley on Saturday. @BantamRealTalk also replied to a tweet of Taylor’s with the comment: ‘And you wonder why fans come on to the pitch and attack absolute muppet’. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: ‘Any allegations of racist abuse will be taken seriously and we would encourage anyone who witnesses inappropriate behaviour to report it to police.’ Taylor had scored the only goal of the game, which edged Bradford closer to relegation. The result of the weekend came at Glanford Park, where

WIMBLEDON beat relegation rivals SCUNTHORPE 2-1. Two goals in six minutes from James Hanson were enough to seal a fourth win in five games, despite Lee Novak pulling one back late on. Wimbledon looked doomed four months ago before Wally Downes took over as manager, but are now two points from safety and 17th place. ‘We’ve got six cup finals left,’ Downes said. At LUTON, boss Mick Harford has taken them to the brink of promotion after James Collins and Luke Berry struck at BRISTOL

ROVERS to secure a 2-1 win and move them seven points clear at the top. It was Collins’ 21st league goal of the season — his best league tally in eight years.
