Now Geri insists: I did NOT have f ling with Mel B
GERI Horner has finally spoken out to deny claims she had a sexual relationship with fellow Spice Girl Melanie Brown.
A rift is understood to have formed between the singers weeks before their highly anticipated comeback tour is due to start in Cardiff.
Last week, Mel B claimed she enjoyed a fling with Ginger Spice at the height of their pop fame. But Mrs Horner, 46, has hit back at the allegations.
‘It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again,’ said an official statement on behalf of the singer.
‘Geri loves the Spice Girls: Emma [Bunton], Melanie [ Brown], Melanie [Chisholm] and Victoria [Beckham].
‘She would like [the fans] to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family.
‘Moving forward, Geri can’t wait to see the girls and all the fans on the tour, have an amazing time with everyone, and make some new memories.’
Miss Brown, 43, made the claim in an interview recorded just under two weeks ago for Piers Morgan’s ITV interview show Life Stories. She said her bandmate would ‘hate her for this’ because she’s ‘all posh in her country house with her husband’.
Mrs Horner is married to businessman Christian Horner, 45, with whom she has a son, Monty, two.
The former Geri Halliwell also has a daughter Bluebell, 12, from a relationship with film director Sacha Gervasi.
Miss Brown is understood to have called her immediately after making the allegations during the recording, to ‘smooth things over’. Insiders said the incident had damaged their friendship. But Mrs Horner insisted the multi-million-pound tour, which features Miss Brown, Miss Bunton, 43, and Miss Chisholm, 45, but not Mrs Beckham, 44, will go ahead. Miss Chisholm was seen looking shocked in the studio audience as Miss Brown, also known as Scary Spice, made her confession to Morgan. The presenter asked Miss Brown: ‘You were coming here to be brutally honest - did you or didn’t you sleep with Geri Halliwell? Did you sleep with her?’ At first she attempted to avoid the question, but eventually replied: ‘Yeah. We all slept in a bed together, but not like that, all of us.’ After further questioning, Miss Brown nodded and claimed that tshe had slept with her bandmate, also known as Ginger Spice.
