Brexiteers in rail attack plot

-

tWO electrical devices designed to cripple the rail signal network were placed on train tracks by pro-Brexit protesters in an unprecedented attack.

the homemade circuit clips planted on railway tracks near yaxley, Cambridgeshire, and Netherfield, Nottinghamshire, were intended to short circuit the rail system, effectively causing all trains to grind to a halt.

two rudimentary devices bearing the message, ‘Government betrayal. Leave means leave. We will bring this country to its knees if we don’t leave’ were attached to train tracks last month.

the electrical devices are used to tell signallers when a train is on the track. But, in this case, the clips were intended to send a false signal.

Ironically, the culprits may have used outdated technology which is no longer effective due to european directives.
