Out of the mouths of babes

WHILE on a double-decker bus to Oxford, my 11-year-old grandson James and four-year-old granddaughter Charlie started to play i Spy. i had a turn, James had a turn and when it was Charlie’s go, she said: ‘i spy with my little eye something beginning with “r”.’ We started to guess — road, railings — but eventually gave up.
