RASPBERRIES

-

SUMMER raspberries fruit in July and August. Autumn ones, depending on weather, can then be picked into October. A slightly acidic, light, well-draining soil suits them best. The canes should be set in the ground vertically and cut back to 23cm after planting. As soon as new growth appears in spring, the original canes should be pruned to ground level — so there will be no fruit in the first year from summer raspberries. Mulch in March.
