Why moving to ITV would be Pointless...

Pointless co- host Richard osman, who produces the popular BBC quiz show that’s said to be a favourite of the Queen, claims he’ll never be tempted to move it to big-budget broadcasters.

‘i own the company that makes it so it’s in my power as to whether it moves to itV, and it never would,’ he assures me.

‘You’ve got to be loyal. the BBC have stuck with it and put so much time into it and you have to be respectful of that. And they treat us so well. We would never take it anywhere.

‘the budgets are so much smaller than they would be on any other channel, and yet they still back it and back it. And i do quite like being the underdog sometimes.’

osman, who is 6 ft 7 in tall, is dating jazz musician sumudu Jayatilaka, who is only 5 ft 2 in.

Presumably that is a relationship of equals.
