Waste of money

THE expensive and ineffectual restorative justice programme introduced by London Mayor Sadiq Khan at a cost to date of £1.3 million is ludicrous.

It is no surprise that only ten victims of crime took up the opportunity to meet their offenders. Why would you want to receive an empty apology?

Now Mr Khan is getting it wrong again by wasting more millions on a violence reduction unit that aims to treat the soaring number of stabbings as a public health problem rather than a law and order issue.

We need quicker convictions and harsher punishments.
