- By MATT BARLOW at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

SON HEUNG-MIN scored the historic first goal at the grand opening of Tottenham’s new £1billion stadium as they beat Crystal Palace 2-0 last night.

Mauricio Pochettino hailed it as a day never to be forgotten. ‘i feel so proud,’ the Spurs boss said. ‘So happy. it’s difficult to describe the emotions. it was a very special day, i will always keep it in my heart. Today we touched the glory. We are World Cup winners in facilities. Now we need to be the same level on the pitch.’ Christian Eriksen also scored as Spurs jumped up to third.

Manchester City’s win against Cardiff at the Etihad saw them replace Liverpool at the top and Callum Hudson-odoi inspired Chelsea to beat Brighton 3-0 and move up to fifth.
