Pop star Ed knocks down his caravan in pool row
HIS song about a Lego House took him to No in the charts – but Ed Sheeran’s own building projects have caused him significantly more problems.
The pop star, 28, has been embroiled in a row over a water feature on his estate.
Now he has removed a Romany-style caravan ‘changing room’ after being told that the pond can only be used for wildlife, not swimming.
The pond was built on Sheeran’s sprawling Suffolk estate near Framlingham in 2017.
But locals raised concerns about the £ 00,000 feature – which is believed to have been installed by Gartenart, a company that specialises in wild swimming pools.
A jetty and two sets of steps were added last summer. Council officials found ‘no evidence’ the pool was used for swimming, but advised the caravan needed planning permission.
Sheeran has now removed the caravan and only the concrete foundations remain. He has retrospective planning permission for the ladders and jetty.
His 6.3-hectare estate already includes an indoor swimming pool, a four-room treehouse and an ornamental pond.
