Supping with the devil

-

WORDS failed me when I heard the result of the marathon Cabinet meeting. Rather than grasp the nettle of a no- deal Brexit and give the country what it’s crying out for, Mrs May has decided to sup with the devil for a compromise agreement to present to Parliament.

The Prime Minister talks a lot about disloyalty in her party and complains about Tory MPs not following her lead.

Well, she has been disloyal to those who campaigned for Brexit, who have seen their hopes of a separation from the EU dashed. She seems oblivious to the mood of her party.

If she doesn’t resign, the Tories will be torn apart. It could be a generation before confidence is restored.

Labour could win the next election and usher in a regime of high public spending with higher taxation to pay for it, bankrupting the country.
