Hidden agenda

JEREMY CORBYN wishes to have a customs union, but for years he has consistently voted against the EU.

Does he not know he will be unable to nationalise industries if we remain within its jurisdiction, because EU directives specifically prohibit this? We know from a recent slip-up that Labour plans to re-nationalise the National Grid if it gets into government.

Theresa May will fail us if she allows Corbyn to influence her thinking.

DAVID BECK, Waterlooville, Hants. ‘NO DEAL is better than a bad deal’ was the mantra we heard repeated endlessly. Now, apparently, Jeremy Corbyn’s customs union is better than no deal. Where are the Conservatives’ principles? I’ve voted Tory for 40 years, but will never support them again.
