Humiliating deal
I HAVE been an ardent supporter of Brexit. However, it is now obvious that we will not achieve this and will have to settle for an in-between arrangement that is neither Brexit nor remain.
So I have changed my view 180 degrees to support remain. We’d be better off remaining fully in the Eu, with a say in all its flawed institutions, rather than signing up to a submembership, in which our global ambitions are hindered by Eu restrictions and we have no negotiating rights over their impact or any future changes.
We are no longer negotiating our exit from the Eu, but a self-inflicted relegation. I am a Brexiteer who now hopes for a remain outcome because the ‘ success’ of a deal is too humiliating to contemplate. DUDLEYPRICE, Wells,
