BT faces Ofcom probe
oFCoM has launched a probe into Bt amid claims it discriminated against rivals.
the investigation is the first under Philip Jansen, who took over as Bt’s chief executive from gavin Patterson in February.
it could lead to a hefty fine if the watchdog decides the telecoms giant has breached competition rules.
ofcom said that it was looking at a £50m deal last year which saw Bt win a contract to provide services to public bodies across northern ireland.
its probe will focus on whether Bt’s network arm, openreach, discriminated against other bidders.
A spokesman for openreach said that it will ‘provide any information’ ofcom requires.
