Hammers last show in town

-

SARACENS have signed a five-year contract with Tottenham to play their annual Big Game fixture at the new stadium. Previously, the London Stadium had been a venue, so this may focus a few minds. With rugby deserting, and cricket a bust — the wicket could only run east to west, making it treacherous in low sun — opportunities for the landlords are fast dwindling. Baseball is coming, but the logistics are hideously expensive, and the odd athletics event costs millions. The stadium has always suffered competing against other outdoor concert venues in the capital, so that leaves… West Ham. The anchor tenants the landlords spend most of their team fighting in court. Take them away and the Olympic Stadium would be the disastrous white elephant many predicted. So play nice.
