THE MOTHER OF ALL CLANGERS
NOT since Tony Adams fell down the stairs at Stringfellows celebrating the birthday of his one-year-old son has there been a family occasion marked in such incongruous fashion as Mother’s Day in the Pickford household. The Everton goalkeeper (right) travelled north to mark this occasion and ended up in a fracas at gone midnight, in which an off-duty bouncer was punched, and his fiancee, Megan Davison, was crudely insulted by a mouthy gang of boozers. If reports of the abuse directed at Pickford’s partner are correct, there was considerable provocation. Yet why visit the kind of establishment peopled with tanked-up halfwits, particularly with your mum? What happened to saying it with flowers?
