STERLING’S TICKETS FOR 550 CHILDREN

- By MIKE KEEGAN

RAHEEM STERLING will hand out 550 tickets for tomorrow’s FA Cup semi-final to pupils from his former school. The generous Manchester City winger stunned staff at the club by making the ticket request ahead of his side’s clash with Brighton at Wembley. Sources told Sportsmail that England forward Sterling, 24, had dipped into his own pocket to

allow hundreds of kids from Ark Elvin Academy to see him in action. In a joint operation with the club, transport will also be provided for the pupils. Ten youngsters from the Wembley school travelled north with a teacher yesterday to meet Sterling, who approached City officials with the idea. Tomorrow they will join their classmates for the short journey to Wembley stadium for the big match. One insider said: ‘Raheem wanted to do something for the kids from his old school. It pretty much sums up the kind of guy he is. ‘He hasn’t made a fuss over it and he doesn’t really want attention. It’s just a decent thing to do.’ Sterling, who moved to England from Jamaica at the age of five, was brought up on the St Raphael’s estate in Wembley.
