Two stabbings and a shooting in 13hrs
Two people were stabbed and a house was shot at over a 13-hour period after a suspected gang went on a violent rampage in a town, police said yesterday.
A boy of 17 was stabbed in High wycombe on Thursday at 12.05am, just 12 hours after a 21-year-old man was left with serious injuries when he was knifed in a shopping area in the Buckinghamshire town at 12.20pm on wednesday.
Less than an hour later, a gunman fired a shot through the window of a house on a residential road at 12.50am, although no one was injured. Yesterday, the two knife victims were said to be in a serious condition in hospital.
Detectives believe the three acts were carried out by the same group. Superintendent Kevin Brown, local police area commander, said: ‘I understand that members of the public might be concerned [but] we believe that those involved are known to each other and there is no threat to the wider public.’
