YouTubers hit daytime BBC1
THE BBC has signed up YouTube stars as part of its efforts to ‘modernise’ daytime television.
Well-known YouTubers, including a woman who reviews household appliances and a couple who sing about sausage rolls, will take part in a new TV series called The Customer Is Always Right.
The show comes after Dan McGolpin, the BBC’s controller of programming and daytime, said the schedule – which is home to the likes of Bargain Hunt – was being refreshed to attract a ‘new generation’.
Lucy Alexander, best known for Homes Under The Hammer, will present the new series later this month alongside YouTubers Mark Hoyle and his wife Rozanne.
