HOLLY Willoughby has revealed she refuses to talk about her weight because it is ‘unhelpful’ for her young fans who may be suffering from eating disorders.

the breakfast television star, 38, said she will never discuss her diet or body shape to avoid fuelling the modern ‘obsession’ with weight.

‘everybody knows what leads to a healthy lifestyle,’ she said. ‘But it’s not up to me to give you a blow-by-blow account of what i’ve eaten that day. it’s not helpful and it’s not what’s important.’

the this Morning star claimed there was an ‘obsession’ and ‘fascination’ with weight which was damaging to young people. the mother to three children, Harry, nine, Belle, seven, and Chester, four, told the Sunday times Magazine: ‘it’s a personal thing for me and i think that people get obsessive with it.

‘On this show [itV’s this Morning] i’ve sat across the sofa from mums and dads who’ve lost children to anorexia, or their children are currently going through it, and they sit there and say, “it doesn’t help that there’s such a fascination with weight at the moment”.’

She went on: ‘Yes, i very deliberately don’t talk about it. Just because i don’t think it’s helpful for the conversation, for women generally. as long as you are healthy and happy, that’s really all that matters.’

But Miss Willoughby was happy to discuss her on- screen style, which often leads to clothes selling out within minutes of her posting a picture online.

every day she posts photos of herself presenting outfits to her 5.4million instagram followers with the hashtag ‘#hwstyle’.

But despite earning a legion of fans for her style, the presenter, who has been married to her tV producer husband Dan Baldwin since 2007, admitted it is actually down to her stylist, angie Smith.

‘i’m not brilliant when it comes to fashion’, she said. ‘i’m growing to like it more. in fact, i enjoy it more now than ever, so i’ve gone on a learning process these past few years.’ She said that Miss Smith encouraged her to ‘get her legs out’ and that this advice ‘just changed everything’.

‘She went, “right, everything that you want to wear i’m going to say no to, and you can try this instead”,’ she explained. ‘i think we all see ourselves in a certain way, and we know those things that are safe.

‘She was like having a really good friend who just pushed you in a different direction.’
