Charlotte: Ditch the iPhone now

Charlotte Church says ditching her smartphone ‘changed her life’ after she became ‘ secretly addicted’ to checking apps on the device.

the singer, 33, swapped her iPhone for a simpler Nokia 3310 and says the move left her ‘free to think again’ and be ‘wholly creative’.

Miss Church, pictured, said: ‘It wasn’t just twitter and emails I was monitoring with obsessive regularity – it was the weather in places where I wasn’t. It was my menstrual cycle app, it was the ticket site SongKick.

‘and when all that was exhausted: scroll, scroll, scroll. It started to affect my relationships with friends and family, especially as the colours of our politics became our only interactions.’

But despite enjoying her new-found freedom, Miss Church admitted to recently buying a Samsung phone as she wants to ‘swim in the contemporary waters’.
