APRIL 9, 1964 TELEVISION set makers and dealers are not seeing the boom in sales they’d hoped for from BBC2 programmes, which start on Monday week. They say the channel’s intellectu­al image is putting people off, and the dreary trade test films are being mistaken for the real thing. APRIL 9, 1973 PABLO PICASSO, the most famous, influentia­l, prolific, talked-about and richest painter of the 20th century, is dead. Picasso, who had been gravely ill for two weeks, died yesterday from a heart attack at his barbedwire barricaded villa at Mougins in the South of France. He was 91.
