UK care business bought by French
A FRENCH hospitality and contracting group has bought The Good Care Group as it seeks to beef up its British home care business.
Sodexo said it will make it the second biggest player in the UK’s live-in care sector.
The Paris-headquartered private company has recently come under fire after an inquest found serious failures at Peterborough prison, which it runs, contributed to the death of a prisoner.
Annabella Landsberg, 45, who had Type 2 diabetes, died after she was restrained and left on the floor for 21 hours in 2017.
And last November, an inquest into the death of 39-year-old Natasha Chin at Sodexo-run HMP Bronzefield in Surrey found prison and healthcare providers had been neglectful.
The Good Care Group was set up in 2009 and arranges for tailored one-on-one care for elderly dementia or cancer sufferers to be delivered in their own homes.
