IF, FOR you, a holiday means escaping everyday routine and enjoying the freedom and flexibility to tailor your days to suit your tastes, then let us introduce Iona.

Whether it’s pinpointing where to go and what style of food to have for breakfast, lunch and dinner, or deciding how you’d like to spend a balmy afternoon or starlit evening at sea to fit your mood, choice is very much on the menu on board.

Offering 16 decks of fun and relaxation, Iona is designed to reimagine holidays at sea, cosseting guests in contemporary comfort in light, airy spaces that showcase the surrounding seascapes. Look out to the horizon from the infinity pool – a first in the P&O Cruises fleet – or from the spectacular three-storey, glass-walled Grand Atrium at the heart of life on Iona. SkyDome, an innovative new leisure and entertainment hub, features a pool with a retractable stage to host a variety of awe-inspiring shows and events against the sky as a backdrop, whatever the weather.

NAMED after the tranquil island in Scotland’s Inner Hebrides known for its stunning landscapes and epic ocean views, Iona sets out to mirror this at every turn. Brand new Conservatory Mini-suites feature an additional lounging area with floor-to-ceiling glass, providing a versatile space for quiet contemplation or a social pre-dinner gathering of new-found friends.

Or you may opt for a sundowner at Anderson’s, Iona’s intimate boutique gin bar which champions artisan spirits and features its very own gin distillery, and also offers mixology masterclasses and tastings.

If you fancy an informal meal, head to Taste 360, a streetfood-style global culinary showcase with a rotating menu, cooked to order, to enjoy alfresco. Tuck into hearty pub fare at The Keel and Cow gastropub, Caribbean and American-inspired dishes at The Beach House, authentic Indian cuisine with a British twist at Sindhu or Mediterranean dishes at The Olive Grove.

The Epicurean offers fine dining, or sample the impressive wine list, curated by wine expert Olly Smith, at The Glass House.

If you choose to eat in one of the four main restaurants, you can do so between 6pm to 10.30pm to fit with your plans.

In all, a total of 15 different on-board dining destinations, including eight speciality restaurants*, means your appetite will be whetted, whatever style of food beckons. Friendly, attentive service is part of the P&O Cruises experience, whether that’s at the hands of a therapist for some restorative pampering in the Spa, being served an elegant afternoon tea at sea in The Epicurean, courtesy of master patissier Eric Lanlard, or in entertainment venues such as the four cinemas or live music at The 710 Club.

With life on board as enriching as the destinations you visit along the way, raise a glass to a holiday on Iona. *Some of which incur a surcharge
