THE weekly food shop is big business and, in the first of a new, three-part series, Gregg Wallace and Watchdog’s Nikki Fox reveal some of the latest innovation­s that are powering the ways we fill our trolleys, with the internet fundamenta­lly changing the way we shop and eat. Anyone glancing along the aisles this year will have noticed a surge in plantbased food, and Gregg (pictured) finds out how Tesco brought its new vegan range to market. He also hears how Asda is making tomatoes as sweet as strawberri­es. Nikki, meanwhile, discovers that nothing is off limits when it comes to selling you stuff — including your sense of smell.
