Ashley Almanza, 55 Chief executive, G4S

THE boss of security firm G4S pocketed £2.9m last year. This was down from the £3.8m he took home in 2017, as he failed to meet financial targets to qualify for most of his bonus. The South African joined British Gas in 1993 before moving to BG Group in 2002. He replaced former chief executive Nick Buckles in June 2013. G4S shares are down a quarter from this time last year, at around 185p. The company’s 2018 revenues were £7.3bn, below estimates of £7.4bn.
