Record-breaking diamond… worth roughly £150m!
AT a little over 302 carats the flawless Graff Lesedi La Rona looks far too big to be real.
But it is the largest square-cut diamond in the world and so big that experts can only guess it is possibly worth at least £150million.
Found in a deep diamond mine in Botswana in 2015 the rare D-colour gem was cut from a 1,109 carat rough stone and unveiled yesterday by London-based luxury jeweller Graff.
Chairman Laurence Graff said: ‘Crafting a diamond masterpiece of this size and quality is a magical alchemy combining science, art and expert intuition.’
