In court, man who ‘saw mum killed’ in 1993
A BOY who said he saw his mother murdered when he was a toddler but was not believed will face his father in the dock this week.
Michael Haim, 52, is on trial for murder in Jacksonville, Florida, more than a quarter of a century after his wife, Bonnie, disappeared from their home. A key witness will be Haim’s son, Aaron Fraser.
As a three-year-old at the time of his mother’s disappearance in 1993, Aaron told a child welfare worker that ‘Daddy hurt Mummy’, or something similar, according to detectives.
But even his own family did not believe little Aaron at the time.
Then, in 2014, having won his childhood home as part of a wrongful death lawsuit against his father, Mr Fraser discovered his mother’s remains buried under a swimming pool in the back garden.
A medical examiner concluded that Mrs Haim died from a homicide ‘by unspecified means’.
