THE BEST DRESSED

-

EVER wondered why a shirt dress gapes across the bust in one shop and yet is unflatteringly baggy and shapeless in another? Well, now we know. The narrowest fit was at Next which seems to cater for a small-waisted figure with a generous bust (there was a 10 cm difference between waist and bust). The M&S design was cut looser at the waist (52cm) than the bust (47cm), making it ideal for those with an apple shape who dislike a fitted waist. It also offered the broadest fit across the shoulders (43cm). Topshop’s dress is slim all over, with a 46cm bust and 48cm waist that’s perfect for a straight up-and-down body. Boden’s is similar, with a 47cm bust and 46cm waist that would flatter someone with an athletic frame.
