Rather rude to cover Bude

-

TROUBLE in Cornwall, where locals are complaining that BBC weather forecasters stand in front of the Cornish peninsula when giving their meteorological reports on television (pictured).

Look. Things could be worse. I could start reading the weather, which would mean most of Wales and Somerset would disappear, too. And half the Atlantic, but let us look forward, not behind. Please.

There have also been grumbles west of the Tamar that not enough of the Waitrose Duchy of Cornwall range features Cornish produce. Perhaps that is a blessing?

Every time I go to Cornwall, I am amazed by the fabulous quality of local foodstuffs, from the butter and the meat, to the incredible fish and shellfish. It is far superior to anything in the Duchy range, which is sometimes spotty.

I doubt that real Cornish class could ever be reproduced for a big supermarket range — so Cornwall should be proud, not peeved.
