Ghosn’s wife questioned
THe wife of ex-nissan boss Carlos Ghosn was quizzed by Japanese prosecutors yesterday over claims she and her husband siphoned off millions of pounds to buy luxury boats.
Carole Ghosn, 52, spent around two and a half hours being questioned by a judge at the Tokyo district court, according to local press reports, though she is not a suspect. Reports in local press claim that £3.8m was funnelled to a British Virgin islands-listed company that Carole Ghosn had ties to in order to help buy a luxury 120-foot yacht, as well as a boat. Carlos Ghosn’s lawyer, Junichiro Hironaka, said: ‘she responded in a sincere manner. We believe this will lead to Mr Ghosn’s acquittal.’
