Ghosn’s wife questioned

THe wife of ex-nissan boss Carlos Ghosn was quizzed by Japanese prosecutor­s yesterday over claims she and her husband siphoned off millions of pounds to buy luxury boats.

Carole Ghosn, 52, spent around two and a half hours being questioned by a judge at the Tokyo district court, according to local press reports, though she is not a suspect. Reports in local press claim that £3.8m was funnelled to a British Virgin islands-listed company that Carole Ghosn had ties to in order to help buy a luxury 120-foot yacht, as well as a boat. Carlos Ghosn’s lawyer, Junichiro Hironaka, said: ‘she responded in a sincere manner. We believe this will lead to Mr Ghosn’s acquittal.’
