LANGER AGES WELL

THE 61-year-old Bernhard Langer is in the clubhouse with a one-under 71. He’s the third-oldest player in the past 35 years to shoot an under-par round at the Masters, trailing only Tom Watson (age 65 in 2015) and Gay Brewer (age 63 in 1995).

2013 Masters champion Adam Scott registered the first birdie of the day on Augusta’s tough 18th hole. He’s the first player to birdie both 17 and 18 on Thursday at the Masters since Louis Oosthuizen and Rory McIlroy did so in 2012.
