HEIDI ON A HIDING TO NOTHING

HEIDI ALLEN, the ex-Tory MP who is now part of Change UK — aka the Independent Group (TIG) — was surprised to be asked about Shirley Williams on LBC radio recently. ‘Is she still alive?’ Allen asked.

Williams, a former Labour Cabinet Minister and co-founder of the SDP, is 88 and still very active in the Lords. I suspect she’ll be around a lot longer than Allen (pictured) and the Tiggers.

PS: Allen provoked anger by claiming hers is the only party ‘giving a voice to millions . . . who want a confirmatory vote on leaving the EU’. The Lib Dems, SNP, Greens and Plaid Cymru all backed a referendum long before TIG was a twinkle in anyone’s eye.
