A MILLIONAIRE landlord is to appear in court charged with posting a video showing a group of people burning an effigy of Grenfell Tower on Bonfire night last year.

Paul Bussetti, 46, has been charged with two counts of sending or causing to be sent grossly offensive material via a public communications network.

Bussetti, of South norwood in South london, will appear at Westminster magistrates’ Court this month and faces a maximum sentence of six months in prison. He and five other men handed themselves in to police after the Grenfell effigy video went viral.

it showed people laughing as the cardboard construction of the West london tower block was lifted on to two wooden slats over a burning bin. A woman’s voice could be heard saying ‘bye everyone’ as she helped lift it into the flames.

A man could be heard making fun of the fire service’s advice to residents, saying: ‘Stay in your flat we are coming to get you.’ Another added: ‘That’s what happens when they don’t pay their rent.’

The clip was slammed after finding its way on to Facebook and Twitter on november 5. A met Police spokesman said it is waiting for an update on the other five men. As of november 6 they were released from police custody and remained on bail.
