Alex set for new baby at age of 42

BBC presenter Alex Jones is among the number of career women adding to their families while in their forties.

The One Show star, 42, and her insurance-broker husband Charlie Thomson are expecting another child in June.

It follows the heartache of a miscarriage which the mumof-one, whose son Teddy is now two, has spoken openly about. Miss Jones became pregnant for a second time in 2017 but she learned her baby did not have a heartbeat 14 weeks into the pregnancy and miscarried.

She told Stella magazine: ‘The baby had stopped developing at about nine weeks. That was really hard. It hit us like a ton of bricks… You’re thinking: “Have I done something wrong? What did I do differently?’
