SO NOW we know the secret of Jude Law’s toned physique.

Admirers were impressed by the photograph of the actor in Venice wearing just a snug pair of white swimming trunks while filming TV drama The Young Pope, in which he plays a rogue Pontiff.

The 46-year-old father-of-five, it transpires, was indulging in a bit of jiggery-pokery, according to the staff of his favourite Venetian canal-side restaurant Da Ivo.

‘Jude said he’s been holding in his stomach for the Lido beach shots, and it’s the fault of the good food in Venice,’ head waiter Rachid Farich tells me. ‘He said after a meal at Da Ivo he’d have to suck in his stomach even more.’
