Single-minded family

I AM fed up with all the criticism of single-parent families.

Through no fault of my own, i have had to bring up my three daughters and son by myself, and we do not feel like second-class citizens.

My eldest daughter is a teacher, my second is a midwife, the third a cook and my son is a builder. They are all doing well and i am so proud of them and their achievements.

i did not go to work until my children had grown, as i loved being there for them. i earned money by child caring, knitting and sewing.

My maxim was ‘if you can’t afford it, go without and save’.
