Slaley Hall to host finale
SLALEY HALL is the exciting new venue for the dramatic finale to the world’s biggest amateur golf competition, the Daily Mail Foursomes, this year. More than 120,000 golfers and over 3,000 clubs have started their quest to reach the October grand finals, which will be held on the sensational championship Hunting Course, renowned as ‘the augusta of the North’. Head of golf Jonny Mould is thrilled that the Northumberland hotel and golf complex will be the first venue in the North East to stage the closing rounds of the prestigious event. He said: ‘It is a great privilege to be hosting the finals and long may it continue. I have a lot of respect for the golfers who make it this far. By the time they get here they are already winners having won seven knockout rounds.’ the venue knows all about staging big occasions, having hosted European tour events and the PGA seniors.
