They cost £5,500 ... and weigh 5kg

-

NATASHA BARTLETT-TWIVEY, 42, is married to Jonathan, 47, a businessman. they live in Buckinghamshire with their daughters, aged four and two. She owns luxury fake flower florists Ferris Heart Sloane. NOBODY would ever know that my daily £5,500 worth of handbags contain things such as pliers and twine for my job as a fake flower florist. Typically, I carry a Lucy Houle holdall to put my Chanel or Bottega Veneta handbag in — mainly to protect the leather so that it always looks absolutely immaculate. Then I have a Ralph Lauren backpack to pop my laptop and smart shoes in because they are lumpy and heavy. I live in a village outside London, so I transform my look when I arrive at work. With two little girls, I frequently feel frazzled when I leave home. But knowing that I have my bags, and the tools for every situation, makes me feel in control — despite having a 5kg-plus weight hanging off my frame. In a way, my bags are like security blankets. I’ve had my large canvas Anya Hindmarch for ten years, but it looks almost as new as my Chanel, which my husband bought for me last Christmas, or my Harriet Sanders, which was a birthday present this year. I also have a large navy bag and a burgundy leather laptop bag, from new brand Alder, created by a friend of mine. As well as my four bags, I carry a little case with mascara and face cream, my Anya Hindmarch organiser and purse, and something to add some extra flair to my outfit, such as a scarf by Missoni. I wear a lot of black, so this adds a lovely splash of colour.
